Words My Heart Speaks

To understand me you must read the "Words My Heart Speaks". ~I don't write to be funny or cute, but rather to speak my mind, my heart, my soul~

The Night We Became One

I was young,
Too wild, too lost to know—
What love was, how to hold it,
How to let it grow.

A runner by nature,
I chased the wind, not roots,
Fled from feelings, from fire,
From anything that took deep root.

But you—
You stood like the calm after rain,
Like a sunrise I never believed in,
Soft, steady, untamed.

That night, when time stilled,
When the world faded to just us,
I swear our souls aligned,
Fused in a moment too deep for trust.

For the first time,
I wasn’t running, I wasn’t afraid.
You made me feel like a child again,
Like love was a game I had never played.

And now—
I would move heaven and earth,
Turn the tides, break the stars,
To stand beside you, to make you my worth.

I never knew love like yours,
Never felt something so true.
But if love is you—
Then maybe, just maybe, I could learn too.

My Forever

I almost lost you yesterday.
Those thoughts tear me apart.
Consuming my mind.
Unable to sleep.
Tossing and turning.
Never feeling your touch, unbearable.
Life without you is no life.
Your love breathes fire into my soul.
Like a ocean without water, nothing can survive.
I cannot survive without you by my side. You're my forever.

The Past

I lay awake at night
Recounting my words
Hating my actions
Unable to rationalize
What once came easy
Unable to distinguish
Memories from fiction
Tossing, turning, twisted and confused
What once was a dream
Became my worst fear

Man of My Dreams

The man of my dreams doesn’t judge me
He doesn’t want me to be anything other than what I am meant to be

The man of my dreams is sweet and sappy
And he just wants to make me happy

The man of my dreams tells me I’m cute
Whether I’m in a dress, jeans or jogging suit

The man of my dreams looks forward to my call
And kisses and hugs me when I’m jumping on rocks and fall

The man of my dreams wraps me in a blanket when I’m cold
And he quits his job just so he can get my house ready to be sold

The man of my dreams spends hours trying to build a fire
And he believes everything I say and would never call me a liar

The man of my dreams sees through to my heart
And he laughs and makes fun of me when I fart

The man of my dreams is crazy about me

And I’m crazy about him, can’t you see?

What Happened?

We go through this world with such sadness
Utter chaos and madness
The whole world seems to be this way
Wouldn’t you say?
Why have we all become such a drag?
All this makes me wanna gag

Strangers used to smile and wave
The hope for it to still be that way I crave
When a person is in danger
Whether it be friend or stranger
We look the other way
And go about our day

Is it too hard to be kind?
That’s not what I find
I wave, I smile, I speak to a complete stranger
No fear of danger

The world has become so lost
People only care about themselves and money, but at what cost?
Money goes away
And you’ll be left with nothing someday

We tend to rush about our day
From place to place
What a waste

What happened to the slow life?
When there was just a husband and wife
A few kids playing in the yard
No banks with guards
Neighbors stopped by to just to say hi
Never even thought to just drive on by

I have such desire to find that type of life again
Where oh where do I begin?

I'm Here

Silence, dead of the night
Black, no light
Echo’s in my mind
Words not so kind
Terror and sadness
Utter madness
Screaming
Seeming
As though I’m in another world
But I’m here
And there’s such fear
The voices
My choices
Over and over
Playing in my head
If I’d chose the other road I could be dead
But instead…
I’m here

Each Morning

Each morning when I awake
The excitement I can not fake
Your arms in mine
Our legs innertwined
What a feeling you give me
Can't you see?
The brightness of your smile
Gives me such a high, for such a long while

My Angel

Teetering on the edge of the mountain
Sitting wondering, thinking, recounting
The last moments I saw your face
You had such beauty, such grace
You always called me your angel
But now you’re mine

I think of your last days
All of the countless hospital stays
How your body was so worn
I felt so torn
I knew you wanted to pass
Alas
But I didn’t want to let you go
I loved you so

You were so special to me
How could I ever walk away and let you be?

That April when you died
Oh how I cried and cried
I was so mad at God that he took you away
Why couldn’t he let you stay?
You were so very young
So much you had not yet done
You had a lifetime of memories still yet to make
Lots more birthdays & cake

It’s been years and I still feel you
What oh what will I ever do?
I still feel the warmth of your smile
Your beautiful profile
The beauty in your eyes
As pretty as the prettiest skies
The feel of your touch
Oh how I miss you so much

Thank you maw maw for being my angel

My Mother

My mother, the one I look to
To know what to do
She's my hero
She's always thought of herself as a zero
The greatest woman I've ever known
All I know she's shown
She's made me the person I am today
What else can I say?
Why can't she see
She's everything I could ever hope to be
I see her in me
Beautiful, smart, sweet & kind
The greatest mother you could ever find
And she's mine, all mine

The Quiet

The quiet of the night
You're no where in sight
Where did you go?
Don't you know?
I need you by my side
Since you've been gone I've tried and tried
To get a grip
How will I ever make it without those lips
I toss and turn
I watch the candles burn
I'm all alone
Because now you're gone
You aren't coming back
You are what my heart will always lack
